Stunning set of John Gould bird prints in very pretty vintage frames. Gould was a famed British ornithologist and bird artist.

He published a number of monographs on birds, illustrated by plates that he produced with the assistance of his wife, Elizabeth Gould. These were all colored by hand. This series was probably printed in the early 20th century in New York by Sidney Z.

Lucas, following the same process. The color is beautiful in this set.

They have been professionally framed with high high quality frames that include a dentil carved molding in a lovely combo of teal blue & green with teal blue matts. In overall very good vintage condition, there is some signs of age and wear to the frames mainly.

The color in the prints as mentioned is very good, so they have been kept out of the sun, which I highly recommend doing. 17.5 x 15 3/4 Image size is 10 x 8.5 approx.
